Location
In the hallway of the apartment building I was then living in.Time
At the end of the afternoon.Lighting
The natural lighting was great at that time and because of the light colors in the hallway I had reflection of the light. Great light on Hans' face and in his eyes.Equipment
My Nikon D90 and a 50 mm, 1.8 lens. Such a great lens!Inspiration
I always wanted to take a picture of Hans, my neighbour. because of his friendly face and his striking lightblue eyes. When I came back home and came across him in the hallway on that very warm summers day I had to ask him if I could take a picture, haha. I quickly grabbed my camera in my appartment and this picture is the second one I made. So we acted very spontaneously. it was the right moment and the right place. In our hallway! Because of Hans' blue eyes I was in doubt if I really should make the picture black and white, but I very soon knew B&W was the best choice.Editing
I used Nik software Silver Efex Pro to make a B&W photo with lots of contrast, to emphasise all the features of the face.In my camera bag
A nikon D750, a 50 mm, a 105 mm and a 80-400 lens. Recently I bought a 24-120 lens. Didn't use it much, yet.Feedback
It's always good to pay attention to your neighbours, maybe you can take a great picture of them too!
