Location

The photo was taken at a lake in Omaha NE.

Time

This was shot in the morning around 6am. I wanted it to be light enough so a tripod was not needed.

Lighting

I was looking for that soft light that the sunrise can provide. I wanted a warm feel that would take on a glow with my filter.

Equipment

Shot with a 40D, F8, SP 160, flash.

Inspiration

The car is what inspired this photo. It is a Model A Ford that has been brought back to the original specs of the lake racers of the 50's They would drive them to work during the week and on the weekend strip them down to race. Headlights, windshield, hood would be removed to make them light wieght.

Editing

Post was a simple as a glow filter from topaz.

In my camera bag

7D 2 flashes 70-200 2.8 canon 10mm-17mm fisheye, 60mm.

Feedback

Find a cool car. Early morning light will give you the soft effect. A fill flash will be needed to bring out the detail off setting the backlight of the sun. Play play play with filters and after effects. Have fun and just keep shooting.
