Not Today..........

The doctor told me today that you are going away.....
We have some much more to say ....
Not today ....
Tomorrow the sun will rise , we will watch it together as thru out our lives .....
With a familiar cup in you hand, half full is all that you can stand ....

I said not today .....

So much world is left for us to see, every sunset in the trees .....
All the rivers flowing by and the smiles of the passers by....
Not today ....
There are miles to hold your hands as we walk thru the sand ....
With endless hours to come, my mind goes numb .....

I said not today ....

The voices of the children that are grown, are sounds you have always known.....
But the doctor said that they will slip away.....
Not today ....
Do not worry my dear, I will always be very near...
I am your memory if you forget, so do even begin to fret .....

I said not today ....

I can see in your eyes the light that was so bright......
The joy that fill our souls will near ever go ....
Not today ....
The doctor may have told you that I will go away ....
Just remember I said not today. .....
