Location
This was on the Road to Hanna on Maui at one of the old churches. This road is famous for the beauty is and traveled heavily by the local folk and a main attraction to most tourist. It is a very hard road to travel in places.. I never know that cars could drive on the sides of mountains. LOL.... I am so happy that I brought an external drive and tons of memory. This is just one of 1000's of shots I took...Time
This was mid day and we had met up with a friend that lived there. We decided just wonder for unique places and finding the true beauty of the Hawaiian Islands.Lighting
The day started out cloudy with light showers, but as with any tropical climate's, as the day went on, the earth dried out and the sun started to peak out from behind the clouds. The contrast of shadows to light was crip and clean which cause the beauty of the island to explode in my eyes and the lens of my camera.Equipment
I had brought my Canon 6d with the 24-105mm L Lens and rented a wide angle, but found my self never changing the lens. The wonderful thing about the Canon 6d is that you still have your program settings and so I just set it on HDR and off I went.Inspiration
Thru out my time on the Hawaiian Island I found me self constantly looking for what was around any and all corners. I just step offed the churches property and turned to my left and caught my breath. The question that raced thru my mind flooded in like the dam had just broke. What was next? Where does this road goes? Can I do it? Ect Ect.... I was so surprise that I was able capture those question in this photo... Are you up for what around the corner?Editing
I am a post processing nut, I am unable to remember all of what I did, but I know that I started with Lightroom, Photoshop and NIK software to add to the HDR effect. In my camera bag
My bag is just about to get lighter, I am going to be purchasing the Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM len, which will allow me to travel with just one lens, batteries, flash, waterproof memory case, external drive,Feedback
I the best advice I can give is take as many photos as you can. Memory is cheap and you will always be surprise at what you find when you sit down and really look at your shots. Watch your lighting if you are outside look at the clouds and where their shadows fall on the ground you can use the light as a part as the story. One thing I love to do is after I take the photo I will look again without the camera and imbed the image that I see, so when it comes time for me to work my images, I can tweak them to what my eyes really wanted to capture in the photo.
