This photo was take at Marriott Hotel in Curaçao at the beach. I was shooting a couple who were about to renew their wedding vows that evening. As we where walking from one scenery to the next, I just saw this one and took a few minutes to try different shots.Time
It was around 6:00 pm, the sun was about to set. It's my favorite time of the day to take pictures. I enjoy the magic a sunset adds to a picture. I had actually scheduled the couple's photo-shoot to be around sunset...Lighting
All natural light baby! I allowed the light of the setting sun to play with the palapa and the palm tree leave. I wanted these two items to be silhouettes.Equipment
Just my Panasonic Lumix FZ-150. I did not use any other equipment.Inspiration
That's what I love about this picture! I was not looking for it... At a certain moment, I just looked up and there it was. I liked the playfulness of the palm tree and the palapa, with the sun and sea in the background. Living on an island is an inspiration all by itself...Editing
Hmmmm, I actually did not edit this picture much. I just ran it through Picasa once and uploaded it to Viewbug. In my camera bag
My camara bag is always ready to go. I have my Panasonic Lumix FZ-150, an extra battery and my charger. My tripod, a memory stick and some lenses. In my car trunk I have a basket filled with props, blankets, shawls, and backdrops.Feedback
Even though here in Curaçao we have a tropical weather all year long, some days can be cloudy, while others give you a clear sky. Depending on what you have in mind for your photo, clouds can give you awesome effects. I would say, go with the flow. Nature is not something you can arrange to what you have in mind. Looking at the weather forecast might help you determine if you want to shoot or not. If the day does not seem to be the perfect day for the shot you have in mind, shoot anyway!!! You might get a different photo, but still an awesome one...
