I always thought that it has been misused so often and by so many, that word, lost.. I'd like to think that we are never lost, probably misplaced, but not lost; thing is, it wouldn't occur to us the possibility that somebody else found us, and that just decided to keep us.. Well, probably misplaced wouldn't be the word either, maybe we were at the right place all along.
