This photo was taken from my back porch after a fresh, morning snowfall. I just loved the way "Woodstock" stood out from the whiteness of the fallen snow. Our wooden character was rescued from a neighborhood yard sale and he looks so happy to be swinging on his new backyard perch from our white, birch tree.Time
The photo was taken late morning after a fresh snowfall.I love the whiteness of the sky and the snow that surrounds "Woodstock". It really makes him pop out of the picture.Lighting
Nature did all of the work on this one. The sky, that's almost as white as the snow itself, was great natural lighting.Equipment
This photo was actually take from my phone and it is one of my favorites.Inspiration
This was nature at its finest. The beauty of the snow and the tree mixed with the yellow coming from "Woodstock" on his swing was the thing that caught my eye and I just had to get a shot of it.Editing
I believe the only thing I did to this picture was to use a vignette border around it to bring out the focal point of Woodstock on his swing. In my camera bag
I usually just have my phone with me. My new Nexus 5 takes a pretty awesome photo, as far as phones are concerned, and I usually have it with me at all times.Feedback
I say to trust your eye. If you are looking at something and it's interesting, chances are it's going to make a good photo. Try taking different angles and multiple pictures of the same thing and you usually will find one that captures what your artistic eye was seeing. Always have your camera at the ready and never be afraid to take a shot. It might just be your best one.
