story: While road tripping from northern Utah to Central Alaska one of many stops was at the Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park. When I arrived at the Hoh an extreme allergic reaction to new clothing covered large portions of my back, arms and face with a rash. The utter beauty of the Hoh Rainforest and nurturing care of my travel companion were the only things that calmed my burning, itchy skin. This particular image was one of those moments when the natural lay of the land expressed itself in a straightforward and obvious composition. The combination of elements highlighted everything I had found engaging about the rainforest.
