Location
At Iceland, near the town of Grundarfjörður.Time
It was about 8:45am but since the sky was overcast it was still a good time to shoot.Lighting
Don't get disappointed if you don't get a beautiful sunrise/sunset. Even during gloomy weather there still are a lot of photo opportunities to be had. Like what I had when shooting this place. With gloomy weather its easier to shoot waterfalls.Equipment
Canon 6D with a Canon 16-35mm Lens at f16. With a 15 second exposure to make the water silky smooth. I also used a 6 stops ND filter as well as a Manfrotto Tripod.Inspiration
I wanted to make the waterfalls look close enough to the kirkjufell mountain. In order to do that I had to be as close as possible to the waterfalls without getting wet. I was probably about 6 feet way with some slight water spray being blown at me. I also wanted it to be slightly different from the rest who have taken this shot so I positioned myself more to the left. Finally I converted it to black and white which for me looks better than the colored one.Editing
I used photoshop with Nik SilverFX to convert it to black and white.In my camera bag

If you come to this place and you were expecting a beautiful sunrise/sunset but get the opposite. Like what happened to me. I had a gloomy sunrise I just kept on shooting different angles of the place. Don't just shoot a couple of shots and leave but go around the place there are a lot of different photo opportunities this place has. Just shoot the waterfall separately as well as Kirkjufell on its own.
