My last night in Rome during my October 2014 trip to Europe was spent walking from one famous site to another, ending with the Vatican. I planned ahead before leaving my hostel and took my tripod with me, setting my camera to a high f-stop and a super long shutter release. The result? Starbursts at every light post, light streaks of cars in motion, and St. Peter's standing watch over it all, lit up and in perfect clarity.
