The day I arrived in Athens for my second week abroad this past October, I spent the evening wandering the area between my hostel just south of the Plaka and Monastiraki. As I made my way back down through the Plaka back towards my hostel, I got hungry and stopped at this restaurant for dinner, and I ate in the outside dining area where I could watch people passing by on the street, which was lined with cheap souvenir shops interspersed with shops selling trendy clothing and accessories or more authentic Greek products. All of that sort of just provided a backdrop for the candles of alternating color that really caught my attention.
