Although the original quality of the image was less than desirable... I still love this shot and seek to improve the image. The original image was taken from approximately 40 miles away with a manual 1000mm Full Frame f:8 lens mounted on a DX body. The shot was taken during sunset, so not only did I have to deal with 40 miles of haze between myself and the image, the Mountain took on this yellow hue which really detracted from the aesthetics of the image. The setting sun provided a low angle of light; one can see a shadow cast by the lower cloud onto the icecap and additional shadows cast by the ridge line on the left side of the mountain.
