Wow quite a statement. I like the inclusion of the people for scale and purpose.

Location
I took this photo in downtown Johannesburg. I was on my way to another venue. By chance I drove past this site and saw the people in the photo standing next to this huge art work. The people gave one a good indication of th scale.Time
I took this photo at approx. 9H00. Most of the murial was in shadow which gave me even light and exposure. There was some light from the side which gave me some depth and texture on the wall.Lighting
The light from the side was not harsh and gave me nice even texture on the murial, brining out some detail of the wall which had a fairly rough surface.Equipment
I Used a Canon 7D with a 50mm f1.8 lens. The lens was bit long and I could not get the entire murial in the frame. I shot at ISO200 F5 Exposure 1/320Inspiration
I am compiling a portfolio on urban decay. It has some magic for me, the rundown buildings and the textures and colours that you find in the run down buildings. I am also a great fan of Graffiti which is also part of urban decay, but I see amzing art in some of the graffiti, therefor I am also compiling a portfolio of Graffiti whcih facinates me.Editing
The photo was taken in colour which in it self is a nice image because the clours are nice and soft, which is unusual for graffiti which is normaly bright and vibrant. I increase the vibrancy to 60% applied noise reduction and sharpened the photo. I then converted it to Monochrome. In my camera bag
My equipment consist of 7D with kit lens 18-135mm, Canon 70-200mm f4 USM L, Canon 100-400mm L, Sigma 10-20mm and Sigma 70mm macro lens. When I walk the streets I take only one lens either 50mm f1.8 or the kit lens. The white lense from Canon draws no much attention. Some of the place i wlak makes me feel uneasy and i don't need any attention.Feedback
I normally plan what photo's I want to take. When I roam the streets I take only the camera and lens. When I take a longer trip in my car I will take the Sigma 10-20mm and canon 70-200mm. When I go for bird photography I only take my 100-400mm lens. I also take lens cleaning material, extra battery and a tripod.
