Location
This is in Two Rivers Park just outside the city limits of Little Rock Arkansas. There is a low traffic path that leads to some great wildlife viewing areasTime
Just after sunrise in the early morning haze that was slowly burning offLighting
All natural lighting outdoors. The weather of heavy haze with sunlight flaring through the trees made the shot possible. There were hundreds of webs in the low shrubs and brambles, mostly invisible save for this perfect momentEquipment
My compact Nikon coolpix p510. This simple camera has a powerful zoom lens but for this shot I changed the settings to closeup and maneuvered into a spot where the close up was sharp with the light and haze in the backgroundInspiration
I almost missed it. I like spiderwebs as a subject but they are normally impossible to really get right. I was in mid step, when I saw the webs. I popped the shot thinking it might be interesting. The result was pleasing but not quite what I wanted. Made one adjustment, tried again and got this ethereal effect.Editing
Minor sharpening, for contrast but that's it.In my camera bag
Just my coolpix p510 and a collapsible manfroto monopodFeedback
Having a sharp eye to see what is in plain sight. Second move around the still subject looking for right angle and lighting. Spider webs can be clear as can be from one angle and completely invisible from another. I see natural beauty and interesting opportunities every time I am at this park and many others. But with nature that perfect photo may last an instant and be gone for good. I have missed so many great opportunities but staying sharp and ready, and looking at each subject from different POV's makes the occasional good shot possible
