No, its out of cam! I make this from a peak named "Brandkogel" at 1600m altitude. ISO 1000, 170mm, f/7,1, 13sec. :-)

This is fascinating. There seem to be fireworks going off all over a valley at the same time. Is this a festival? How many towns and villages are there?

Location
I take this photo at a peak named "Brandkogel" in Styria, Austria. You can see my Hometown Köflach and Voitsberg in looking towards to Graz.Time
It was a cold and clear night at the New Year´s Eve 2013, exactly 0:03.Lighting
I just take a series of pictures with different settings to test the possibilities and limits of my camera and to improve my skills.Equipment
I used my Nikon D7000 with an Nikkor 70-300 mounted on an old (and heavy) Manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
In my childhood i was many times at this location for skiing, so i know the surroundings very well. It´s quite near to my hometown and a popular place for sport activities like hiking, skiing and just to relax. For years i had the idea to make a picture of the Fireworks at New Year´s Eve from above. In 2012 we had perfect conditions, so i hiked with my friend Stefan and a Bottle of "Jägertee" to the summit. It was a bit cold but we have a lot of fun to make pictures in this area.Editing
No, this picture is out of cam.In my camera bag
Photography for me is a creative hobby to relax, so my equipment is not highly professional. I usually use my Nikon D7000, a Nikkor AF-S DX 16-85mm 1:3,5-5,6, a Nikkor 70-300mm 1:4,5-5,6G IF-ED, Nikkor 50mm 1.8 and an Walimex Pro 8/3,5 Fisheye. If needed i take a Gorillapod or an Manfrotto tripod with me. So that´s fit in to my National Geographic Medium Backpack witch is very comfortable and the entire equipment is not too heavy to carry on longer distances.Feedback
Just go out and have fun!
