Behind The Lens

Location

I took this image, at Shorncliffe. Brisbane Australia.I was scouting around for places to take images. I happened to see at excellent opportunity. I pulled car over close to cliffs. I was a complete learner. I could not go pass this scene.the settings were F/9.0, ISO-100, Esposure 10/1250.

Time

This image was taken whilst still learning camera. From what I can remember it was about 8am , A very overcast and cold day. With fog still everywhere.

Lighting

All natural lighting.

Equipment

It was my first camera ,a Nikon 3100. 18mm-55mm lense. I only had the basics when I started out.

Inspiration

The weather inspired me to take this Image. It looked ghostly, I wanted to capture it for the eerie feeling of the image. Watching the yachts in the water, through the fog gave it a sense of life.

Editing

I would like to say, I cropped this image, tried to make it clearer. When first starting out ,I was not equipped with much at all. I have been teaching myself , sometimes with great images other times not so good. I keep striving to do better.I only brought A photoshop program 2 yr ago. I never knew u could take power lines etc out off images.

In my camera bag

In my camera bag I carry a Nikon 3500, A zoom lense -500mm, An 18 to 270 mm sigma lense, I have recently upgraded my Macro lense, to a 90mm F/2.8 Tamron . My next lense I really want would be a Panaromic Lense to take better landscape images. My Tripod is never far away from camera gear. I have also recently brought a ND filter that enables me more versiltility during day time.

Feedback

My only advise would be ,be prepared to pull over to capture a moment ,that you dont see ordinarily. When i plan to go for some images somewhere, usually the drive has so many unexpected sights. Also when I visit family friends the camera is with. Never know what u see. Early In morning is always a great time. In winter though its chilly. what I have found is that winter gives you so many great images ,clearer skies, crisper photos.
