This picture was taken in french forest during the period of Squall.Time
time of day was very good. The light was very good and i was lucky to meat this deer. I remember this day all my life, it was a exceptional memory. I hope, i will have the same meat in futur.Lighting
With animals, you need to use natural light. For take a good shoot, first you need to find your subject. Next you need to find a good view with good light. But normaly, animals take this choice for you ! I am just the messager.Equipment

When i go in wild, i take my canon 400mm F : 2.8 with my extender 2X. and a monopod. This is a heavy equipment but it's a necessity.Feedback
My advice for trying to capture something similar: take your time ! Learn about the nature, open your eyes and you will see.
