One of my favorite places to go unwind and take great photos is Navarre Beach in Navarre, FL.Time
In the late evening very few people stay to watch the sunset. The ones that remain, get their photo taken! This particular evening was special. The sun was warm and the clouds streamed along with the sunbeams.Lighting
I am a natural light photographer so the beach always has interesting light and shadow play. I enjoy that epic feel and atmospheric mood that the warmth of summer submits and the joy it brings to the soul.Equipment
This photo was shot with my Nikon D600. I did not use a tripod for this one. It was hand held. I do not remember the lens I used. No flash was in use.Inspiration
The joy of summer inspired this particular photo. I think it depicts those long summer evenings where you don't want the happy times to end. Summer vacation or times with friends and family seems to linger longer in the summer months. Warmth and joy and the immense feel of an ever lasting summer inspired the mood.Editing
This photo was taken when I was still very new to photography. I know I had a very old version of Photoshop Elements and one other application at the time. However, I was so new that there is very little processing here. These days, I usually use an updated version of Photoshop Elements along with a few other programs, but still try to keep my photos as natural as possible unless I'm being "artsy" and creative. In my camera bag
I like to keep things simple. I usually carry my Nikon D600, 3 types of lenses, my tripod, and that's it. I rely on my eye for composition and artistic takes.Feedback
My advice would be to not be afraid, get out, take photos, be patient with yourself and equipment, adjust your settings until you get the shot you want. The more you practice your craft, the better you will become.
