This photo was taken at the Navarre Beach in Navarre, FL underneath an iconic fisherman's pier. I am a self taught photographer. This was an important moment in my composition journey.Time
This photo was taken during the pre sunset hours in the summer. The coastal waters in the area are called the Emerald Coast because of the dreamy green colors.Lighting
I usually choose to go around the sunset hours to catch the best golden light. Here I caught the sun dancing off and through the green waters of the Emerald Coast and extending up the legs of this massive underbelly of a bridge.Equipment
I usually hand hold my camera and used my AF-S Nikkor 24-85mm lens. I have very little equipment, but I always make the most out of it!Inspiration
At the time, I was looking for creative and inspiring compositions to practice and explore. This was my first time underneath the pier. The lines, colors, and atmosphere helped inspire the image you see before you.Editing
I try to do as little processing as possible to keep the all natural outdoor feel. I did use photoshop to enhance the light some and contrast to help enhance the colors. In my camera bag
I have my Nikon D600. I have 2 lenses: My Nikkor 24-85mm and my DX 35mm. I don't leave home with them! They are nicely tucked into a waterproof backpack.Feedback
Don't be afraid to play, explore, and create new ways to stretch your talents. Composition, light, and focus work takes time to learn. Discovery is half the fun. Visit someplace new, walk around, and find its heart. You will make great images!
