it was a very nice early autumn day. the midday sun is not ideal for photos but you can't choose when shooting a contest. much light is not bad for sports photos so you can take a short exposure but you must be careful the white is quickly outshines and the sky overexposed. I control the photos over and over again to adjust the settings. I shoot in RAW and tend towards the under-exposure to get a nice blue sky.Equipment

I really like to shoot action sports. An event like freestyle.ch is a great deal because you have 4 sports on the same time in the middle of Zurich with some of the greatest athletes from around the world. Like Mat Rebeaud SUI (photo) one of the best FMX rider with an amazing style.Editing
Yes, I photographing the sporting events in RAW too. Processing in Lightroom - contrast, temperature, saturation, white balance... and Photoshop to bring out the details and brilliance. In my camera bag

to freeze movements it requires a short exposure 1/800 and shorter. if you have no experience it's easier to start with 1/2000. if you want to show motion use a longer exposure 1/30 and a closer aperture f7 and closer. use the mode-series and AF continuous, 51 AF points. I prefer to set everything manually so that the photo is exactly how I want it. As a beginner I would advise to choose the program Shutter Priority to set the exposure and the camera selects the aperture. It makes it a little bit easier. try to imagine how the motion sequences are and follow the rider with the camera now you have just to trigger. do not despair if the rejection rate is very high when shooting the first action sports. Good luck and have fun!
