Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken at Dassiesfontein, a local farm stall and trading store on the N2 between Caledon and Botrivier, Western Cape, South Africa. The crates are used during grape harvesting on the Jonkheer Winery Estate in nearby Robertson, also in the Western Cape.Time
It was taken in the middle of the day, on a coffee break at the Farm stall.Lighting
The verandah, where these crates were stored is north facing, so it had wonderful reflected light, enhancing the texture and colour of the wood.Equipment
It was shot with my Nikon D7000, 18-105 lens at 1/80 and F stop 11Inspiration
The texsture, colour and composition inspired me to take this picture.Editing
I sharpened the image and enhanced the colour and contrast. In my camera bag
I have a super but limited backpack. The following fit in just perfectly - my Nikon D7000 with it's attached kit lens (18-105), a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 standard lens and a Tamron 90mm Macro lens. The extra pouch contains my extra battery, charger and cleaning stuff, also a piece of black cloth for a possible backdrop.Feedback
One has to develop an eye, it comes with time and experience, but it is also a very conscious thing. Two people in the same room - the one can "see" tons of pictures, the other one virtually noting.
