Behind The Lens

Location

Rowella, Tasmania, Australia

Time

It was a cold morning in March. I set out at around 5am to set up and wait for what I hoped to be a beautiful sunrise, I got more than I expected. This is one of the most spectacular sunrises I have witnessed in this area.

Lighting

At the start the lighting was nothing special then the clouds rolled in which I was hoping for to give me great light for when the sun rose.

Equipment

This image was taken with a Pentax K7, 18-55mm lens. 3 ND filter. I also used a manfrotto tripod, Hahnel giga T proremote

Inspiration

I absolutly love taking pictures of my home state, Tasmania and sharing images of this wonderful place.

Editing

I did some post processing using photoshop just to lighten the image a fraction.

In my camera bag

Since taking this image I have upgraded my equipment. I am now currently using a Nikon D800 with a 25-70mm lens together with ND and grad filters. Nikon remote cable release. Dust cloth. Rubber bands, sandwich bags to protect camera and lens And I Always take along my trusty manafrotto tripod. LED Lens lenser torch.

Feedback

Be patient, I had previously been to this location over 20 times before I finally got the image I was hoping for. If first you don't succeed just keep trying because eventually you will get the right one.
