This photo was taken late in the afternoon at Rodanthe, N.C. on the Outer Banks. There was a tropical storm off shore which was really kicking up the waves even more than usual but the winds were coming from the west...causing the crests of the waves to be blown back out towards the sea in dramatic sprays.
