Location
Photo taken in my front yard while playing with my grandson. He is a very happy boy and loves playing with his grandparents.Time
Middle afternoon.Lighting
This was with natural light. There was a bit of overcast that helped to mute the harsh sunlight.Equipment
The camera was a Canon Digital Rebel T1i EOS 500D, with a Canon 28-200mm lens.Inspiration
My wife and I are fortunate to have our only grandchild living nearby. When he visits we keep our cameras very busy. On this day we were having a great time with a little water fight. Our grandson is not a great model and getting him to pose for photos is not an easy task. He will even tell us "no pictures." But when we are playing I can use the Canon's burst mode to get some action shots while he is having a great time. By the end of each year I am able to select some nice photos for a "grandson" calendar.Editing
There was no post-processing except for a bit of cropping. In my camera bag
I also have a Canon 18-55 mm lens and recently acquired a 55-250mm lens. I am an amateur that has been taking photos since I was a teenager, starting with a box camera, then a 35mm film camera (I recall that it was an Ansco). Have used several digital cameras before acquiring the Canon. I have used Photoshop a bit in the past but had trouble keeping it going when I changed computers. I found that GIMP is adequate for the modest post-processing that I need to do.Feedback
Keep the camera ready. I have a camera available when my grandson visits and when we are playing outdoors at home, in a park, fishing, kite-flying, and even out for just a walk or wagon ride. For this photo I was lying on our lawn and with this upward angle was able avoid distractions in the background.
