Behind The Lens
Location
This was in upstate New York. It is near Watkins Glen. The trail leads behind the waterfall and is wonderful to experience.Time
It has been a few years so I don't know the time exactly. but it seems to be around mid-day.Lighting
It is a rather deep river canyon so the lighting is indirect but still avoids harsh shadows.Equipment
This was with my old Minolta on 35mm film, probably Kodak, hand-held.Inspiration
I love nature, the streams and especially those with waterfalls. This was just one spot on a rather long walk that followed the beautiful stream.Editing
It has been a while, but I recall that there was some clutter on the lower right corner that I cloned away. I don't believe there was anything else.In my camera bag
Using a Nikon D7000 now and normally use an 18mm x 300mm lens that is very useful in many situations. I do find that having a Iphone12 in my pocket at all times enables me to capture rather nice candid shots, since the large camera is not always available. Something that I did not carried around but was very important to me is my desktop scanner. I have scanned thousands of old negatives and slides of photos that I took before the digital age.Feedback
I appreciate the artistic talent that others use to post-process photos into spectacular images; for myself, I prefer that a photo will retain, as much as possible, what I see in the real world. I don't wish to belittle the artistic work that is being done but some efforts fall--to me at least--into the category of "fantasy photos." I don't have Photoshop and just use a free app, Gimp, to make some crops and small corrections.
