Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at a small organic farmer's market in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Time

I stopped at a farmers market when it looked like it was going to rain. Once inside, I looked all over the market and this one vegetable stood out to me.

Lighting

The lighting in the market was not ideal, so I took the eggplant and moved it so that the light from outside would emphasize it's ridges.

Equipment

This shot was taken with a Canon 60D camera with a 18-200 mm lens.

Inspiration

The eggplant was so unique and it's wrinkles reminded me of human features.

Editing

Yes, I did. I converted the picture from color to black and white. Then, I increased the shadows and deceased the highlights. After, i emphasized the shadows and clarity. Followed by sharpening the image and post crop vignette the image.

In my camera bag

The first thing i pack in my bag is my camera. Than i put my two other lens, a 50 mm lens and a 75-300 mm lens.

Feedback

When you see unique objects, places, or people, capture the moment. Once you take a picture, you should experiment with different angles and by changing the reflection of light can enhance certain qualities with in an image.
