Location
This was taken at a little park with a hiking trail through it and not to far from my house, in which not a lot of people really go to except to walk dogs. So always nice to get out without a lot of noise to scare off the birds.Time
It was sometime between nine and eleven am, which is a bit after the dog walkers and before it gets to hot outside.Lighting
I had taken several different pictures at various angles, and as the sun was out and the sky was real blue. So i decided to take the shot with the next tree branches in the background, which ended up with a great blurred back drop.Equipment
Had my Canon T2i with the Sigma 120-400mm glass and a monopodInspiration
I had been trying to get some shots of the woodpeckers that seemed to by flying all over the place that morning, when I spotted this one just lounging out on the edge of the branch like it was sunning itself.Editing
The only processing I did was crop the photo a bit.In my camera bag
I normally carry the Canon T2i with my 75-250mm glass, extra batteries, extra SD cardsFeedback
For myself the Sigma glass is heavy so I took the monopod, without a ball head on it, so I would suggest taking the tripod so you can tilt the camera back to get the right angle up.
