This image is a composite image taken from two images one from the rear upstairs window of my mothers hand is the actual sky Colour amazing isn't it the other a shot 30 miles away In SalisburyTime
Both images are at similar times of the day early evening late in September and probably if my memory serves me well around two weeks of each other I knew what I wanted as soon as I had the balloon image in the bag as they sayLighting
Both being early evening when the sun is starting to set bring the whole image a warm glow a comfy feel flows through all the colours, the sun being low in the sky hits the side of the balloon perfectly insuring that any shade is lostEquipment
Taken with my least favourite Camera the Canon 70D I say that as its the only Canon Camera I have owned which has needed a repair apart from that the touch screen was revolutionary and the images it took excellent for a cropped sensor The lens on this occasion was the standard 24-105mm zoom again an excellent lens which is always attached to the 5D that I now ownInspiration
Hot Air Balloon don't you just love them they are graceful and Iconic set against a clear sky or drifting down a valley they inspire and attract attention so from an early age they grasp the imagination add that to a beautiful sunset sky and what more inspiration do you needEditing
in this case I have lifted the colours slightly and of course layered the two images using lightroom initially working with RAW files and then layered and finalised in Photoshop saving into JpegIn my camera bag
Now I carry the 5D constantly by my side with the 24-105 attached in the bag rests the amazing fully loaded 5D MkIV attached to that is the 1'2 50mm prime also lingering in there is the amazing 100-400mm zoom which creates amazing bokeh imagesFeedback
let your imagination run free with digital we have a paint box to create just about anything don't be afraid to try something new and shoot in RAW but most of all try studio photography as this will teach you about lighting a subject once you have learned that use the sun a candle a streetlamp headlights to recreate that in the real world the possibilities are endless
