Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo outside my luxury tent at Botlierskop Nature reserve. I was having my morning cup of coffee and heard the beautiful song of the Chorister Robin. Luckily my camera was next to me. Photography is my hobby and I am still learning !!!

Time

This was early morning with beautiful soft light.

Lighting

The light was still soft.

Equipment

I used a Canon 7D and 300mm Canon lens and monopod.

Inspiration

The beautiful light and stunning colouring of the bird. The background was also gorgeous.

Editing

I lightened the bird slightly, had to reduce some noise and sharpened.

In my camera bag

Canon D7, Canon 300mm, canon 1.4 converter and monopod.

Feedback

Capturing birds in the morning or late afternoon is a good choice for light and the birds are often on perches singing or calling a mate.
