Behind The Lens

Location

Route 66 Classic Car Show, Crestwood, MO.

Time

The picture was taken towards the end of my "car" tour about 2pm. The pink caught my eye, then the length of the car. I knew I wanted a photo that would capture the length.

Lighting

It was full sun, bouncing off every piece of chrome from every car, I did a lot of moving, bending and changing positions with the camera to get the angle I wanted and omit what I didn't want.

Equipment

Nikon D3200, kit 18-55 lens, handheld.

Inspiration

Mostly the car, it screamed 'look at me!' It was just a big hunk of automotive history setting before me.

Editing

I tone mapped it in Photomatix.

In my camera bag

D3200, kit 18-55 lens, 70-300mm zoom and a 35mm 1.8

Feedback

Move around your subject while viewing through the lens, take lots of shots at different angles. Sometimes what look interesting through the lens doesn't equate to an interesting picture and vice versa.
