Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my back yard in January 2016.

Time

Taken at 1:00PM, sun slightly in front of him.

Lighting

It was all natural lighting, it was a overcast but bright winters day.

Equipment

This was shot with a Nikon D3200, handheld. ISO 200, 300mm F5.6 1/160sec

Inspiration

I love wildlife, especially birds. I wanted to document the different kinds of birds I see in my back yard. I didn't know much about birds when I started this project, but since have learned many species.

Editing

This photograph was cropped, clarity was brought up.

In my camera bag

Things have changed since I took this picture with the D3200, which I still have with its 18-55 and 55-300mm. I also now have the Nikon D500, Sigma 150-600c, Nikon 16-80mm

Feedback

Shoot a lot and get familiar with your wildlife subjects. My pictures began getting better when I learned the subjects movements and gained some patience.
