t was a rainy, cloudy day in Valdez so we decided to take a drive out of town and see if we could lose the rain. This pass is always amazing looking no matter what the weather looks like. Thompson Pass is known as the snowiest place in Alaska. The area receives an average of 550 inches of snow per year. It's hard to believe that all that snow can disappear by the end of July.
