Location
In my front garden, Derbyshire, England.Time
AfternoonLighting
Daylight, to make it look as natural as possible.Equipment
Canon EOS 500D with 18-500mm zoom lens. Props (leaves, conkers), collected from under local horse chestnut trees. Three short thin metal rods (cut from bicycle spokes).Inspiration
Watching the conkers fall from the trees gave me the inspiration for this photo.Editing
Yes, the three metal rods used to hold the three main subject parts in place where digitally removed in Photoshop and replaced with adjacent colour. In my camera bag
Canon EOS 500D camera with 18-200mm zoom lens, Coolpix S8000 Nikon compact camera.Feedback
I was originally planning to capture this image in a local field beneath a horse chestnut tree with all of the background props (leaves and conkers, etc) already lying in place. Unfortunately, the field grass was generally far too long, making it impossible to achieve the low angle that I desired. By collecting the props and moving back to the shorter grass of my garden and ensuring a narrow depth of field, the objective was easily achieved.
