This photo is taken from a dock on the Chequamegon Bay of Lake Superior in Ashland, WI. Sunsets here are stunning, but this time I wanted to do something different, so I used a crystal ball. Because the image in the ball is "upside down", I rotated the photo to enable the viewer to see it rightsize up.Time

My Nikon D90. Uncertain as to the lens- probably my old stand-by- Nikon 28-70 2.8 Sorry I can't be of more help on this one!Inspiration
I love Lake Superior. I grew up and lived here my first 53 years. My Dad sailed the great Lakes for 45 years, and is buried in Lake Superior, so my attachment to her is strong. Whenever I visit, photos of The Big Lake are a must <3Editing
I really don't do much, if any post processing. Obviously rotated this one, but for the most part, if I do anything, it is to tweak color and light, and crop.no photo shop for this girl.In my camera bag
My old, faithful Nikon D90 is always in my hand or around my neck- always. And an equally old, but super wonderful Nikon 2.8 28-70mm lens.Feedback
Buy the ball from Amazon. The trick to taking these photos is first of all, a low f-stop to blur out the background, and then pay close attention to glare on the ball. I have gotten so excited at times, that I have ruined shots with unwanted glare.
