I drove from Alpine California to the Arizona Superstitions, jumped outa my Xterra and began hiking the Peralta Canyon Trail in the late afternoon. I reached the Fremont Saddle and noticed the last rays of the Sun were hitting the Needle.
I was hoping the light would be spectacular after the Sun set, so I quickly ran to the edge of a steep cliff approximately a 1-2 mile away to capture this scene as the light faded. Hiked back to my vehicle in the glow of my headlamp. This was my first trip to the Superstition Mountains and I will definitely be back soon, gorgeous area!!
