I was going to say the same. :) I love this and the b&w makes it even more striking.

Location
The photograph was taken at Swansea Marina on an overcast day.Time
I love this shot. I decided to walk around Swansea Marina to photograph the boats and the architecture so I spent most of the day there from about 10am as I was unable to get out there any earlier.Lighting
The natural light was quite soft because of the cloud cover which helped as there was no glare so positioning wasn't a problem and of course the clouds added a lot of background interest.Equipment
I used a Sony a290 fitted with an 18 - 55mm Sony lens. The shot was taken hand held.Inspiration
Although I had gone to the marina to shoot boats I had noticed several cyclists riding past the archway on my way onto the marina from the car park. I had also noticed that the arch framed some of the craft moored in the marina and also a section of the sky, which was quite dramatic. I decided to go back to the arch and wait fro a group of cyclists that were travelling along the side of the marina that was opposite to where I was walking. I took up position and took a test shot before the cyclists got near. Then I waited until they cycled past the arch and I took three shots, all with the camera hand-held. This one I consider to be the best.Editing
The photograph was taken in colour to capture a full tonal range and then converted to black and white during post processing. I felt that black and white added more drama to the photo. Slight adjustments to levels were made and a small amount of dodge and burn on the clouds which were already very prominent in the photo. In my camera bag
I still carry my Sony a290 along with a Sony 50mm f1.8 prime lens, Sony 18 - 55mm zoom lens, Sony 55 -200mm zoom lens, speedlight and filters. I currently shoot mainly with a Canon 5d Mk111 and carry a Canon 50mm f1.8 prime lens, Canon 85mm f1.8 prime lens, Canon 100mm f2,8 Macro lens, Canon 75 - 300mm zoom lens. Also a Manfrotto tripod. It's quite a heavy load to carry all at once so I usually decide which set up to take before the shoot.Feedback
Take note of what is happening around you and what shapes and structures there are to help you to frame a shot or add perspective. Even if you have a particular subject in mind, be open to what may present itself. Be prepared to move position and even double back on yourself if necessary. Think about the shot you want and be patient. If a bland sky is going to spoil your shot then move position to cut it out. Be prepared to convert your photo to black and white if colour doesn't do it justice.
