Location
This photo was taken on the Shepparton-Bunbartha Rd. Shepparton North, Victoria, Australia.Time
It was 7:44am (although the data flie says 8:44am, I had not changed from summertime), the fog was still high.Lighting
The lighting was all natural, with the sun trying to shine through the fog making the image look cold. The lone tree in the paddock gives it more feeling of isolation and cold.Equipment
I used a Canon 550D, f5.6, 1/1600 sec, ISO-640 at 155mm. With a Tamron 18-270 f/3.5-6.3. Camera was hand held with no flash or any other equipment.Inspiration
The atmosphere and color of the sunrise was my inspiration for this image, the lone tree in the foreground, to me, added more feeling to the image.Editing
The image was shot as a JPG file and I only had to slightly adjust the highlights and a little cropping. In my camera bag
My bag contains 2 Canon bodies, my original Canon 550D and my newer Canon 100D, then I have my Tamron 18-270, Tamron 70-300. I also have 3 Canon lenses, 50, 18-55 and a 55-250. Then there is my Sigma 150-600. A tripod and a Monopod. Lighting I have a Canon Speed light.Feedback
In this instance I was lucky to be in just the right place at the right time. However knowing and understanding your local environment is helpful. Like what time is sunrise/sunset, the atmospheric conditions at that time (fog, rain, snow). Now one piece of advise I often tell people when their looking for a colorful sunset is don't just look to the west, quite often the clouds to the east can be just as colorful as the sky to the west and usually more dramatic.
