Location
The picture was taken above Great Harwood nr Blackburn Lancashire in a field used for horses in foal. One of the best places to find young horses.Time
The time of day was noon, the weather was good .I shot this picture along with a lot of different positions but I picked this one. 'A tender moment'Lighting
Lighting was not a problem .With a clear sky .One of those days when the weather plays ball making a photographer's life so easyEquipment
Equipment for this days shooting was .Camera Nikon D5100. Lenses Kit lens AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm and my SIGMMA DG 150-500mm 1:5-6.3 APO HSM. I used a mono pod that gave me freedom to move quickly where the tripod would slow you down and that moment would be gone.Inspiration
The opportunity came on my day off .As I knew the horses would be there at this time of year .The weather was really good and I was in the right place at the right time .I love to take pictures of animals ,places that look good, also things that catch my eye .Editing
Lucky for me there was no need to do any thing. Conditions were just right. In my camera bag
On this occasion I had all my gear in the car. Three cameras Nikon D5100, Nikon D3000, Sony Cyber-shot 50 x optical zoom, Lenses 18-55mm 55-200mm 150-500mm Tripods ,mono pod and all sorts of filters, flashguns ,spare batteries, spare memory cards ex.Feedback
I take my time to use the right equipment , try to keep a good distance from my subject , using the correct lens to get the best result, then move quietly. But be ready for the moment when things fall into place. You may only get the one chance to get it right. I have missed good shots by not having the right lens on. Also I have just spun round and shot off quickly in order to get a good picture, and yes that does work sometimes. And yes I do have days when things conspire against me .That's when you stop, reset and be patient. The next shot might be the winner. To me the best thing in photography is you never stop learning. And as new equipment comes on the market new opportunities become available, and with practice we can make great strides to get that shot we thought to be impossible. Thank you for reading this small blog.
