I took this photo in "Plitvi?ka jezera" Nationalpark in Croatia. In my opinion a outstanding place. The park covers 296,85 square kilometers of pure nature with innumerable waterfalls.Time
I entered the national park at about 9am and got to this shot at about 10am. It was one of this really hot days and you're not allowed to take a swim in the clear water. But in the end it was definitely worth to bear the heat.Lighting
I used a Lee Bigstopper to get a longer exposure. And what should I say, this filters are just helpful.Equipment
For this particular shot I used a Sony SLT-A99 with a Sigma 20mm 1.8 attached. The tripod comes from Manfrotto and the filters from Lee. A perfect team for taking waterfall shots.Inspiration
The pure nature. Nothing more or less. The whole area is just stunning. I've never seen so many waterfalls and so clear water at the same place. Honestly, as I heard from this place a few years ago, my decision to visit this place was sure.Editing
Yes, I did. I used Lightroom to develop the raw file. I pushed the contrast and colors a bit, tried to get highlights in the colors and I did as well a lens correction to eliminate the barrel distortion.In my camera bag
Puh.. That's changing all the time, for this trip I had the 20mm Sigma, a 28-75mm 2.8 Sony Lens in my bag. Then, for sure, a few gadgets like the Lee filters, an remote shutter release, the Manfrotto tripod and many batteries.Feedback
Yes, try a few shots with different exposure times and the biggest advice is to take your time to get the right lightning. Remember, nature is not a studio and you have to deal with the situation. Sometimes I see a good spot but the lightning is not perfect (too dark, too bright and so on). In this case I go on and try to come back later on.
