Trees and forests have always been have always been a point of interest and inspiration for me, especially during the fall and winter months. I incorporate images of trees in clusters like this in my hand sketches and in my architectural endeavors. The scene captured reminded me of a forest sketch I created about a year ago. Having seen this I strived to recapture the image in “real life”. I then processed the image in Photoshop and Picasa to achieve the Indigo gradation which truly brought the image to life adding mystery and romantic luminosity.

Thank you all for these wonderful comments. What started as a walk in the park became a beckoning call to the woods filled with the delicious colors brought forth by the night.

An absolute masterpiece! So creatively and beautifully edited. You have created a Wonderland! I would love you to take a photo of your sketches and put one up here for me to see. I admire people who are able to sketch. It is an incredible art. I will put up an indepth sketch which I son did while he was in hospital and needed his focus diverted. It is the mind of a master in my books.

My first camera was a Panasonic Lumix FX5 and still my favourite. I now have a Sony a550, which I am not altogether thrilled with, but slowly does it - tripod takes care of the rest.

Ive spent my younger years as a child wondering on our land through trees spenting most of the day in the woods alone with them. This piece reminds me of exploring in peace. There wasnt anywhere else Id rather be. Appreciate the color enhancement and gradiation as well as anothers interest in trees. Thank you, its very nice!
