These four deer where trying to get from one end of this Canola field to the other, but most of the time ther Canola was higher than their heads. All you could see was a small tip of an antler or tail. Then they would pop up their heads and look around. Thus the Title Name. Also see if you notice an unusual situation in this photo.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was shot while drive along the Lowell/Snohomish River Road. This road runs between my town which is the Historic Township of Lowell in Everett WA to Snohomish which is at the other end of the valley.

Time

I took this about 8:30 or 9AM. I was driving to work and realized that I had forgotten my laptop. So I found a place further to turn around and head back the house. As I was driving (speed limit strictly enforced at 25 MPH) back the way I came I glanced out my drivers side window and thought I saw something move in the yellow fields, It wasn't unti later that I found out that it was acres and acres of Canla fields. I slowed down to get a better look and suddenly I saw this little head with antlers peeking up above the Canola. I pulled over and started shooting using my window to steady the camera. After the first head a second, then third and finally a fourth deer head appeard (bareopy) above the Canola. It was obviouse that they were having trouble manuvering across the field. At one point the jumping over the Canola looking Orcas diving up and then down unto the water.

Lighting

I just happened have the perfect setting with sun to the back of me. It was beautiful morning and natural lighting was all I needed.

Equipment

I used the window for support and my Camera
