Moody, mesmerizing, ripe with story. Fine art photography at its best.

A haunting image, like a ghostly figure. Her face is like porcelain and yet her eyes are not that of a doll but a stranger coming through from the past. A great cinematic shot.

I love the romance in this photo . . . the models's expression, the composition, and focus all combine to create a mood that resonates with me. It's wonderful!

this photo could be from the Great Wars era... a orphaned girl sent to America perhaps? timeless

Not sure what goes on in the mind - this is what drew me! Photograph beautifully put together [DOF; RoT; Leading lines (one moves on from the model into the frame)! Man I love this!

Location
I chose the railroad next to the Kraków Central Station, since the trains over here are usually very old and the whole surroundings looks very nostalgic.Time
I took this picture on the last day of 2012. Afternoon.Lighting
The main problem was the location. The train was in service and running, so the timing was difficult. The carriage was shaking and the landscape behind the window was constantly changing, affecting the light and the overall atmosphere.Equipment
The picture was taken by 50 mm f/1.4 lens mounted on D700 body set on f/2.8 and ISO 400 ,daylight plus blende. WB always on auto (RAW file).Inspiration
A day before a great thought came to my mind. After Christmas, on the day on New Year's Eve people move around a lot. It is also the time of change, new resolutions, but most of all – travel. In my head I had an image of somebody being en route, sitting in a train or waiting at the station.Editing
Obviously I treat RAW file like undeveloped film. I usually make small changes to the picture in Camera RAW Photoshop plug-in and Photoshop as well. These are global alterations, I do not touch the content of the picture. In my camera bag

Since I've been interested in photography for about 5 years now, I realize that I still need to improve a lot. I'm learning from other artists work. I also take part in workshops whenever possible and work with models as much as I can. Take good photographs or die trying.
