Behind The Lens

Location

I climbed the 219 steps to the top of the St Augustine Lighthouse. A challenge I had wanted to do for a long time. I took my time and stopped at each landing. There were many chances for the strange angles and curves that I took. Since I am not a professional photographer I had no special equipment. My secret was in the cropping. I do know Photoshop and have found the secret is in post production.

Time

It was in the daytime, I do not remember exactly what time, since the trip to the top took close to an hour.

Lighting

Because it was inside and the middle of the day, the white walls provided all the lighting I needed. I try not to use a flash unless necessary.

Equipment

nothing special. Again, it was it the subject matter and the possibilities.

Inspiration

A good shot is in the possibilities and I knew this was a one shot deal. I would probably not be climbing many more lighthouses in my lifetime.

Editing

The only post processing was in cropping and enhancement of the colors.

In my camera bag

I go simple. Just my camera.

Feedback

Think out of the box. That is how I see all art. This was not just a spiral stairwell, it was a piece of art. Sometimes I stare at a possibility and think of it as a picture hanging on my wall.
