Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken of a flower from my backyard and such.

Time

It was evening.

Lighting

Natural light, and a standard 60W light bulb.

Equipment

Canon t2i with the kit lens (18-55mm). For the macro effect I tape a 50mm lens backwards onto the front of my kit lens. It acts as a makeshift macro lens and since I had the 50mm lens from an old 1980s camera sitting around I put it to good use. It can be very frustrating trying to get the focus just right, but it saves money which I have to spend on textbooks ect. for college.

Inspiration

Daily lilies are one of my favorite flowers and it was finally dark enough to bring out the contrast of the flower.

Editing

Nothing major maybe some contrast or lighting adjustments.

In my camera bag

I now carry a Canon 70D with the 18-55mm lens and a 75-300mm lens.

Feedback

If you don't have the money for expensive macro lenses, if you have two lenses sitting around if you put one on the camera normally then attach the second one backwards to the first lens, it creates a macro effect. There are better ways to do it, but this is my method and it works for me.
