Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken in ecublens, near Lausanne, Vaud. SwitzerlandTime
I took this photo in the afternoon. I was invited for a lunch in my friend’s place. I was excited to find out this sunflower field near their homeLighting
It was a cloudy day. The lighting was then great.Equipment
Sony Nex 5 with Sony SEL 50mm 1.8Inspiration
Back in the time when I took this photo (2013). I started into portrait photography. When I looked at the sunflower fields, all the flowers looked similars and only the one shown in this photo was different. I have then started to see the scene as a portrait session where the closed sunflower is the main subject and all the other sunflowers made the background.Editing
I have done very little post processing. Few image enhancing with Lightroom. All the main work on this photo was done during the capture of the photoIn my camera bag
Since that photo I have changed my photography gear. Now in my bag I always have: Sony A7riii, SEL FE Zeiss 16-35mm and SEL 85GM1.4Feedback
Always look very carefully around you. Details are important. I was not prepared for that photo. I just had the idea on the spot, nothing was prepared in advance. Try to apply your portrait photograph skills in the nature and you will be amazed by the outcome of the mix.
