Location
This photo was taken near a small rural town called Clifton in Queensland Australia.Time
This was taken first thing in the morning, as the sun rose above the horizon.Lighting
The lighting was actually really harsh. The sun was caught behind the fog for a while, then as the fog lifted the sun beamed through. I thought it set off a nice contrast on that side of the tree. To break up the background.Equipment
Canon 7D with a 12-22mm wide angle lens. On a tripod, really low to the ground.Inspiration
I would drive around a lot. Looking at rural scenes. And this tree caught my eye, as it was all by itself. The old crop lines leading to it, made me like a moth to the flame. I just couldnt resistEditing
Yes. The sun was quite harsh, and I played on this a bit. Mainly using lightroom, with some photoshop to bring out the crop lines moreIn my camera bag
A canon 7D. Two wide lenses, 10-22mm and 17-55. Filters galore! Shutter release. Tripod. And cleaning equipment. It can get dirty out here!Feedback
Go to the same place at different times of the day. I hadnt noticed this tree because I saw it in the afternoon originally. The morning light totally changed the mood of it. And use your angles. Shooting from eye height is boring.
