I took this photo near a town named Tadmore, Saskatchewan I’ve always enjoyed thunderstorms and storm chasing and I always thought that the building in the picture would make for a great photo one day.Time
It was sometime in the early evening I would have to say around 4 or 5pm there was some decent storms around and I figured I’d take my sister on abit of a storm chase we had a good time and seen some real nice storm structure.Lighting
I really loved the lighting with this picture the way the clouds showed through just enough light to make for an eerie looking picture seemed to fit nicely with the subject.Equipment
I shot this with a Nikon D3200 and the 18-55mm f/3.5 kit lens with a tripod.Inspiration
I have always been a fan of storms through my entire childhood I loved going out and watching them the movie twister got me into storm chasing seeing other storm chasers pictures inspired me to start capturing the memories of my chases.Editing
I do some post-processing usually not much just adjust the basics to get the picture to look how I seen it with my eyeIn my camera bag
I have a Nikon D3200 with the 18-55mm kit lens along with a 70-300mm f/4.5-6.5 lens also a 50mm f/1.8 along with a macro tube kit a shutter remote and a tripod looking into a 10-24mm f/3.5 lens aswellFeedback
I found it pays off to go out even a little further than expected to get pictures like this storms are fast paced and can change in the blink of an eye that being said safety comes first so learning how to read weather models and radar helps a big amount in trying to find the right place to be at the right time also a building or anything that you can use as a subject to draw the eye to along with the view of the storm seems to be really good just avoid too much clutter.
