Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Saratoga, Wyoming.

Time

Mid-morning

Lighting

Just natural lighting on a day in May. The wheel and skateboard were in an open garage.

Equipment

Sony Nex-6 with a 17-55mm lens.

Inspiration

I was visiting in this very small down and decided to walk around in the streets and alleys. This alley was a small dirt road that had open garages facing out. I saw this broken wheel and unusual skateboard and thought it had such character in this small, old Wyoming town.

Editing

I used the sliders on iphoto to tweak the image with contrast and sharpness. I also used the in-camera HDR.

In my camera bag

I carry a shoulder bag with the Sony Nex-7, 17-55mm, 14mm, 55-200mm and fish-eye lenses, two extra batteries and one extra memory card. Sometimes I carry a tri-pod or bean bag.

Feedback

I did not realize the impact of this image until I saw it on the computer. The only advice I can give is to SEE what you are walking by, notice the objects that have potential, and not waste opportunity.
