I have been corrected. This is a Green Tree Pyton. I had no clue what it was and saw a Green Mamba on the Discovery Channel once.

Location
I took this at the Norfolk Zoo in Virginia.Time
Sometime in the afternoon.Lighting
I had only just recently purchased my first DSLR camera (Canon T-2i) and this was one of the first 100 or so shots I took and it was in auto.Equipment
The basic camera set of the Canon T-2i with the 18-50mm lens that comes with it.Inspiration
I had no idea I even liked photography until this shot and a few others. This helped me get deeper and deeper into the hobby.Editing
Very little. My camera had a disc that contained an editing program with very few functions. I think contrast and some saturation were about all I used. There may have been a clarity slider as well but that was a long time ago.In my camera bag
Now I have a Canon 5D Mk III. I use a 24-105 lens for my everyday shots and carry a 100mm macro as well as I love close up shots.Feedback
I've learned to always be aware of lighting. Also to try and capture a shot from a perspective that's not always seen. It's also ok to cut out part of the subject as I did with this shot. It wouldn't have been the same had I adjusted to have the whole snake in the frame.
