Location
New Orleans, LA - in the Art district area.Time
About mid-morningLighting
It was very lightly cloudy, and the direction the sun was coming in was ideal for this side of the building pictured.Equipment
Camera: Canon EOS 7D Lens: Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Aperture: f/4.5 ISO: 100 Exposure: 1/100 no flash, no tripod, handheld.Inspiration
The way the lines were almost perfectly squared - yet seemed to spiral into a vanishing point at the end of the block - straight into a patch of grass. The bricks and the railings under the almost 'perfectly' trimmed trees lent the scene an almost 'drawn' quality. This was the result after several attempts.Editing
Yes - fairly heavy since it was an HDR, in CC Photoshop and Lightroom. I'm open to as much experimentation as possible, and this was my first attempt in that regard. In my camera bag
Canon 7D, Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM, Canon - EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM, nifty 50, good protected bag, lens pens, extra battery and memory.Feedback
Be open to all types of image captures and experiment always and often. walk yourself into as many situations as you can - in this case, this meant that I was walking quite a few miles outside the normally planned route. I try to do that as much as possible. Have the right mental attitude - in my case - that next awesome photo that speaks to the heart is just around the corner.... just have to catchup to it :)
